COVID-19 Update
April 29, 2020 - Contactless Branches
At PLM, our employee and customer's health and well-being are always top priority. We are taking every necessary precaution to ensure your safety. We have implemented contactless deliveries at our branches through the usage of cell phones and digital signatures for all inspections.
- Employees wash and sanitize their hands regularly
- Counter tops and touch pad units are disinfected frequently
- Employees wear masks and/or face coverings when coming in contact with vendors and customers
- Where available, an alcohol-based sanitizer will be available for customer use
We continue to monitor the CDC and Federal guidelines and will be making decisions and accommodations based on their latest recommendations and the safety of our customers and employees. We thank you for your continued support through these uncertain times.
March 23, 2020 - FDA Guidelines for COVID-19
PLM has been a resource to the industry, and continue to be a resource for our customers for not only equipment needs but information.
Last week, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration released Food Facility Guidelines for dealing with COVID-19. They are attempting to answer many of the questions we are hearing from in regards to:
- Employee quarantines
- Food recalls
- Facility cleaning protocols
- Food safety plans
- Addressing foodborne illness outbreaks during the pandemic
- Food Supplier Verification Onsite Audit Requirements during the pandemic

PLM continues to work with our partners through various boards and committees that we participate in the food industry and related coalitions to work with federal agencies in order to provide information and guidance to the industry.

Shipments of Supplies Related to Critical Infrastructure
We are all in this together and will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation. We now follow and will continue to follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our customers as needed.
PLM and its critical vendors are operating in the Food and Agriculture and/ or Transportation Systems infrastructure sectors, both designated as critical sectors in the Memo issued on March 19, 2020 by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security pursuant to Presidential Policy Directive PPD-21. Both are sectors whose assets, systems, and networks are considered so vital that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health, or safety.
The President’s Coronavirus Guidance published on March 16, 2020 instructs employees of companies within such
Critical Infrastructure Sectors, such as the Food and Agriculture and Transportation Systems sectors to maintain
normal work patterns during the global coronavirus outbreak.
This document certifies that PLM’s refrigerated trailers are operated by its customers to transport food and
agricultural products and are therefore included within a sector that has been designated as a Critical
Infrastructure Sector, the continued operation of which is vital for security, national economic security, national
public health, and safety.
