With the arrival of winter weather for the next several months, and specifically for this week and weekend’s Arctic Blast, here are some tips to avoid cold weather issues and failures with your refrigerated trailers
- Drain trailer air tanks daily and consider using “airline antifreeze
- Consider running TRU on “continuous” mode vs. “start / stop”
- Work with your fuel provider to ensure you are using “winter blend” diesel fuel
- Be aware of slippery surfaces such as handles, steps, walk ramps, and liftgate platforms – Stay Safe
- Clear stop / tail / turn lights for visibility. LED lights do not produce heat and will not melt ice and snow.
